6S is a method to improve an organization’s operating efficiency, productivity and safety. The core principles of 6S include Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain – which were previously referred to as 5S – and Safety, which is a relatively recent addition to the framework. By applying the principles of 6S, companies build a foundation of continuous improvement that often translates into a company wide culture of quality and excellence.
