Northeastern Pennsylvania Manufacturer Selected as National Manufacturer of the Week

December 2011 – Cresco, Pennsylvania-based Weiler Corporation was selected as the national “Make It In America” Manufacturer of the Week by the National Institute of Standards & Technology Manufacturing Extension Partnership. As such, Weiler Corporation represents the first Pennsylvania manufacturer to earn the recognition and only the fourth domestic manufacturer to receive the national accolade.

“We’re extremely proud of Karl Weiler, Jim Teeple and the entire Weiler Corporation team for successfully applying for and receiving this national recognition. Through their dedication to continuous improvement, innovation and employee training, Weiler has created a profitable niche within an intensely competitive market and also entered into new markets, including the domestic Marcellus Shale play and international petroleum industry”, said Eric Joseph Esoda, NEPIRC’s Executive Director. NEPIRC and Weiler Corporation worked collaboratively to submit the company’s Manufacturer of the Week application and supporting documentation.

From its humble beginnings in 1898 as a manufacturer of specialty brushes for the jewelry and dental industries, Weiler Corporation now occupies a 240,000 square foot facility that successfully supplies power brushes, abrasives, maintenance products and custom-designed surface conditioning solutions to companies throughout the United States and abroad. In so doing, Weiler Corporation has become an employer of choice within Monroe County and a source of motivation for all small and mid-sized domestic manufacturers.
